Talk about a landscaping company in the Phoenix Metro that can do anything – and do it well! I have used Unique for several projects (front yard remodel, waterfall, fireplace, pergola patio cover, etc.) over the past 10 years and every time, they amaze me. From the initial consultation (I have met at least 3 different design team members on different projects) to the final walk thru – Unique blows away any other contractor I have ever used in Arizona! They take pride in their workmanship and it sure shows in the final product. Sure, they may be a little more expensive than some of the other landscape and pool companies around town, but there is such a difference in the quality they offer (i should know – as I used a different company for my pool and had problems from the get go…and they wouldn’t work with me on some of the minor changes and additions that I wanted to make). Thank you, Unique, for turning my basic front and backyard into an amazing entertaining space for friends and family to enjoy! Can’t wait to have you out for our next project this coming summer (gazebo with built in BBQ)!!

Unique did a very large project for my husband and I about 4 years ago. They redid our front yard, adding a beautiful courtyard w fountain, a turret over our front door and a complete overhaul of our backyard, complete w a new travertine patio, firepit, fire columns, new spa deck and more. It is absolutely beautiful and we are constantly told that our backyard is like a resort. They were wonderful to work with and any minor thing that came up after they were done, they were here promptly to fix it. 4 years later we still love it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Chris and his crew in a heartbeat! Sal is the man too!!!

Like the other reviews, I’d like to give them zero stars. We started our very large project in October 2015 (signed contract) & it is now end of June 2016, still not completed. Calling the owner does not help, in one ear out the other. Staff appears to be thinly spread, over-worked, too busy, whatever. Poor communication, poor planning, poor customer service. The customer does not come first. There were several weeks where no workers worked. They also do not work Saturdays (which would have been nice to know during quote process). Can’t say much about the actual workmanship that has been done so far because I can’t seem to tell who is an employee of Unique versus who they outsourced some parts to. We have done everything they have asked us to do in timely manners, yet the same has not been reciprocated. Very one-sided. No one seems to care about our project; we just want it done. Since we are in the pool business, we will definitely NOT be referring any of our 120 customers to them.

I contacted Unique to landscape an entire backyard from scratch. We scheduled a meeting at our property to discuss our wishes and concerns. Notes were taken and suggestions were provided. A design was presented to us in a week. In the end we had drainage, retaining walls, electrical plumbing, gas plumbing, drinking water plumbing, irrigation installed, paver patio installed, outdoor kitchen (5 burner grill, side burner, 2 drawer storage, outdoor sink, outdoor refrigerator, tile and flagstone counters with a cantilever, pergola over the outdoor kitchen), gas fire pit with flagstone topped masonry bench, a half-sunken hot tub with flagstone top, artificial turf area with a paver edging, landscape lighting and countless plants and trees. Once the work was started the work continued without interruption until the job was completed. The team did not start and then move to another job elsewhere then come back etc..The integrity of the team and the work performed is second to none. Unique still communicates with us to validate everything is going well. Recently one of the landscape lights had stopped working. We filled a form out online and within 3 days the light was replaced no charge. I am so impressed with how stress free the process was for us as the owners. This was a huge undertaking that took a few months to complete. Unique makes it easy to communicate so everyone was always on the same page. After the work was completed our neighbor came over to see the results. He ended up going with Unique to landscape his entire yard and had the same results.

I bought a vacation home, where the pool was installed by this company. 15 months after taking ownership of the home, the electronics and motors in our pool short circuited requiring us to replace them. Unfortunately, when Unique put in the pool, they provided no access to get at the motors or electronics. So, 12 weeks later, and $10, 000 lighter, we finally removed the last of the landscaping, chipped away the retaining walls, cut all the rebar, and were able to access the motors to replace them. Now we have a huge gaping hole at one end of the pool that will need to be built back up, with future access ensured. I know that whomever paid to put in the pool was not thinking about future owner needing access to the motors and electronics, but it was a nightmare that could have been easily avoided with only a little more “forward thinking”. Something the pool installer should have flagged during the install process. I am fearful that my hot tub motors are next to go (and it was installed by Unique as well).
