What do you love about your job?
What I love about my job is being able to create a landscape and to add to a customers landscape with a water feature, flagstone patio or something that they absolutely love. I love being able to work closely with my customers and getting their input on what they enjoy. My absolute favorite thing is when I finish building a water feature and it is all completed, and you turn it on for the first time. Then we show the customers; they have these huge smiles on their faces, and they absolutely love how my team has built a custom water feature just for them. Building water features is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. We enjoy building all aspects of landscaping. It is very rewarding, and we enjoy working outdoors and being able to create something that our customers will enjoy for years to come.
Who or what inspired you to start your business?
When I was younger, I was given an opportunity to work with a gentleman who was starting a landscaping business. I figured that I would work for a little while and take a break from office jobs. I started as a laborer and quickly became a foreman; once I started building and designing my own water features, I fell in love with it. Being able to work with dirt and being able to create something artistic that people love was really inspiring to me. I never felt I was much of an artist on paper but being able to be artistic with dirt, rocks, and plants, I have found where I belong, and I love what I do. So the next logical step for me was to start my own business.
